Food:Gypsy Kitchen is a fun, modern, hip, tapas restaurant that you can enjoy a few drinks and a couple of small plates. They have a great open patio, in-door/outdoor seating and a live dj, playing loud, pop music giving the eatery a lounge-feel. As you look onto the patio its two different ambiences; one half you can see people dining; enjoying tapas, on the other half you see people dancing, conversing with drinks and enjoying the music. You get the best of both worlds in one restaurant; a night out, in the Shops of Buckhead, sans club. I think this restaurant is good for a girls night, a pre-game meet up, and a group outing.
Enough on ambience…..Let’s talk about the food! I have been here a few times with groups so I have indulged on many of the tapas and entrees. For the tapas, my favorites are the garlic shrimp, they are large colossal succleent shrimp, the roasted cauliflower and quinona salad has a nice kick of heat and tang, and lastly the mussels are tasty in a white wine sauce. Of course you can’t go to a spanish cuisine restaurant without having the signature seafood paella, it has mussels, clams, shrimp and a fried egg, its tasty and filling. Now, the show-shopper, must-try entree, is the grilled springer mountain chicken, it sits atop crushed potatoes with sherry vadouvan sauce, and salsa verde. It is literally the best chicken dish I have ever tasted. The flavors are layered with each bite and you get an explosive taste.
If food isn’t your thing, you should at least go here for the drinks and the atmosphere!
